Paths of Getting CCNP Routing and Switching Certified

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching certification validates the ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks and work collaboratively with specialists on advanced security, voice, wireless and video solutions. The CCNP Routing and Switching certification is appropriate for those with at least one year of networking experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions.

Those who achieve CCNP Routing and Switching have demonstrated the skills required in enterprise roles such as network engineer, support engineer, systems engineer or network technician. The routing and switching protocol knowledge from this certification will provide a lasting foundation as these skills are equally relevant in the physical networks of today and the virtualized network functions of tomorrow.

In the CCNP Routing and Switching program, you will cover:

Implementing secure, IPv6-enabled LAN and WAN routing solutions to support today’s business-critical services and widespread adoption of BYOD across the enterprise
High availability, switch virtualization and scalable VPN technologies needed to support branch offices and to enable the mobile workforce

Two Paths to Certification
Option 1
If you are currently pursuing your CCNP Routing and Switching certification, you may choose to complete the v1.0 curriculum. Upon completion, the certification will be good for three years. The last day to test is January 29, 2015.

642-813 SWITCH Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks

Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks (SWITCH 642-813) is a qualifying exam for the Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP, and Cisco Certified Design Professional CCDP certifications. The SWITCH 642-813 exam will certify that the successful candidate has important knowledge and skills necessary to to plan, configure and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions using Cisco’s Campus Enterprise Architecture.

642-813 SWITCH is known as Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks. The Associated Certifications are CCDP, CCNP Routing and Switching. There are 35-45 questions in real 642-813 SWITCH test, which will take the candidates 120 minutes to complete the test. The available language is English. Candidates can register 642-813 SWITCH exam at Pearson VUE testing center.
